Frequently asked questions.

Do you shoot just digital or film as well?

I’m glad you asked. I am a creative who loves photography to it’s core, which is why I shoot a mix of film and digital on every wedding or shoot I am on. My packages are inclusive of film, not an add on - so when you are booking me you are getting a film and digital photographer and you will receive film photographs captured from the start of your day, right until the party is in full swing.

Why do you shoot on film?

Photography is magic - simple! I love taking the art of photography right back to it’s roots and capturing truly authentic photos that film has to offer. It’s easy to get trigger happy with a digital camera and end up with 10 photos of the same thing, film forces the photographer to get the photo perfect on the first go.

Do I need a second shooter?

For weddings larger than 100 people and longer coverage times, a second shooter is recommended. The purpose being so that I can focus all my attention on the couple and not have to be everywhere all at once. If you wish to book a second shooter for your day, the fee is $150 per hour with a minimum booking time of 4 hours.

How can you help us feel more comfortable in front of the camera?

It’s a story as old as time… A photographer gets an inquiry and the first line of the message reads “we’re both a bit awkward in front of the camera”. My approach is about making sure you have fun, are laughing and feeling like yourself! One thing you should know about me, is that I’m not a quiet, lurk in the corner and make you feel intimidated type of photographer. I promise you that by the time we reach your wedding day, you’ll feel like your posing for a friend and having the time of your life taking your wedding photos! The best part is that you will receive beautiful memories that look effortless, authentic and artful, all the while taking you back in time.

How many images will I receive?

This varies based on hours of coverage and size of the event. For instance, for a 6 hour wedding you can expect 600-800 photos. For weddings with 8, 10 or 12 hours of coverage you can expect 800-1200.
In terms of the amount of film photos for the day, this varies. With each roll being approx. 24 - 36 photos each, I aim to shoot 1 roll per hour. Keep in mind that I curate a selection of the best of the best from each roll, not every photo taken.

When can I expect my photos?

I know how excited you will be to relive your big day, which is why straight after the wedding I strap myself down to the computer and work hard to get you a curated selection of sneak peeks 48 hours after your wedding. For your full gallery, the timeline usually 6 weeks but during the busy season or over Christmas it can take up to 8 weeks.

I could talk about photography all day, get in touch if you have more questions!
